![]() ![]() Nimalist and Swisst will each sell you a basic wallet for $40. When I first began this search in earnest last month, nearly eight months from the debut of AirTags, I was let down that this seemingly obvious market had yet to be addressed by any of the brands I associate with making “cool wallets for cool people.” Simply searching for “AirTag wallet” on Google yielded results from companies I’d never heard of selling what appeared to be the exact same wallets. ![]() We only include products that have been independently selected by Input's editorial team. ![]() Input may receive a portion of sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article. Some have successfully DIY’d their own AirTag cards with the help of 3D printing as a good temporary solution. This is a worthy aspiration for the future, but one that may not bear fruit for years. I’m not going to hold my breath for Apple to sell a full-sized wallet with AirTag circuitry woven within, or even a card-shaped AirTags tracker of its own, as the company is on a long-term mission to replace wallets entirely with Apple Pay, digital ID cards, and smart home and car keys. If your wallet falls off or is stolen, you’ll have no luck finding it. Your iPhone only records it’s location whenever the MagSafe wallet is detached, but there’s no radio or battery inside the wallet. The MagSafe wallet the company makes does technically “work” with Find My but in a very primitive way. For that, AirTags are the only option for now.Īpple itself isn’t doing much to help. No! I want my phone to guide me right up to the couch cushion my wallet is hiding in. Chipolo sells a tracker card that works with Find My instead of its own network, but it still has the limitations of Bluetooth tracking. From there, you’re relying on audible cues to find the darn thing. Sure, I could buy a Tile or Chipolo tracker the size of a huskier credit card to slide into my wallet, but those only get you in the same room as your wallet if you lose it. This is why I was so bewildered by the utter lack of wallets with an AirTag slot from these companies. After all, there is something nice about starting each day carrying quality products that get the job done with style.Nomad’s “Card for AirTag” helps the AirTag fit comfortably in traditional wallets. No matter which of the three styles you choose, I have no doubt you will be happy with your investment. And if you need to carry a bit more, you might do better with the BiFold Wallet. If you can go a bit more minimalist, the Card Wallet might be better suited for you. The Nomad Card Wallet Plus is a beautiful wallet for those looking to lighten their load while still carrying an assortment of cards. Our leather is crafted to patina over time, ensuring it develops a look that is uniquely yours. A unique thermoforming process with our signature Horween leather gives this wallet a truly modern outline with room for cards and folded bills. Nice right?Ĭard Wallet Plus is designed for maximum versatility to fit a flexible lifestyle. This is what the packed wallet looks like when closed. ![]() I worry a bit about crooks who use scanners to capture credit card information, but that would be the case no matter where the credit card is in the wallet. For some, however, this quick access slot might be ideal for a frequently-used credit card. It is understated enough to avoid being obnoxious, but it is a good reminder that this is no dime store wallet.Īs mentioned, there is a quick-access card slot that is perfect for my swipe cards on the outside. On the inside, you’ll find the Nomad name embossed into the leather. Since I use a swipe card to get into my synagogue building and a second swipe card to get into the local police station (I volunteer as a Police Chaplain), this slot is the ideal location for quick entry into either building. The other side of the wallet has one card slot. The soft curves are unlike anything I’ve seen on a leather wallet, and I appreciate Nomad taking this extra step when designing the products. It looks and feels nice, but I suspect it has the added advantage of increasing the wallet’s strength while still allowing the leather to stretch just enough to hold the cards securely in place. The result is a soft curve as the leather approaches the seams. In the post about the new wallets, I spent a fair amount of time on Nomad’s use of “Thermoformed leather” to mold and shape the wallets. This thermoforming process creates space to store your cards without requiring the leather to stretch out, keeping your cards securely in place and your wallet looking new for longer. Thermoformed Leather: Our signature Horween leather is bonded to a thin layer of reinforcing fabric and then molded into shape using intense heat and pressure. The front side of the wallet has a clean, unbroken design. ![]()
